Little Miss Creative

Fortunately it's not just been chores whilst I've been off work (although, it HAS mainly been chores so far). At the end of March I was in quarantine with potentially the virus (will we ever get tested I wonder). Stuck in a room on my own I decided to teach myself crochet. Thank you YouTube. I ordered 6 balls of wool thinking this would be enough. However, the instructions I followed for the blanket are going to create something that will eventually cover my garden.

Once out of quarantine I spent a day sourcing any wool tucked away at home. Left overs from scarves I knitted for people at Christmas (a phase I went through), school projects and other wool related 'things' that have happened. I spend about 30 mins on the blanket every day and am finding it a useful side activity when on the 2 million video calls I'm having right now.

As a result of this rarely have I seen a blanket with so many clashing colours. I have no idea what I'm going to do with it when this is all over. However, in its funny way it will be a little piece of my history. How I switched off during this frankly bizarre and scary time. So I'll keep it and use it (the garden may get cold).

This afternoon I have another creative activity with my son - apparently we are going to use a fungus making kit he was given by someone for Christmas a few years ago. We're going to make some fake snot and a burping stomach - I suspect I'll have more to report on this on another post. I definitely remember gifts being less revolting when I was young. I understand they call this 'quality time' with your kid. I wonder if 'THEY' have kids that want to do slightly less disgusting things.
