Well it's Thursday. That's house cleaning day - boo. The hoover ran out of juice with just a small bit of the hoovering left so I've decided to fill the time whilst I wait for it to recharge by writing a new post.
I mentioned I'd finished all the big chores, so now I'm on my stretch list. I'm finding it tough to dedicate time to get this moving. The chores were things you could mindlessly get on with. The stretch list requires thinking.
I never seem to have a moment to think, still really busy - it's just that my time is spent doing different things. I spend about 2 hours a week trying to locate bread flour. I've actually just given up and have ordered a 16KG bag of bread flour. No idea WHAT I am going to do with 15KG of it, but at least I get those 2 hours back.
If you go to the shops it takes a ridiculous amount of time once you have queued and you've managed to avoid the idiots that don't believe in lock down (I've exhausted all my passive aggressive comments as they seem to have no impact). Then there's the whole task of disinfecting things that come into the house. I'm also still struggling to get deodorant (why did people bulk buy that!?), I've decided to use whiffy underarms as a weapon against people that get close to me in the supermarket. My own personal super power - Behold BO Woman, she can melt faces at a thousand feet.
But home schooling also comes with a constant stream of 'can I have' - a drink, a banana, the fire turned on, the exercise bike seat to be lower (that's 30 mins PE each day), help with this question - and my personal favorite from this morning 'Can I have my toenails cut' - I don't even want to think about the boredom level that makes your mind turn to your toenails.
I'm feeling rather more domestic than I really want to at the moment, there's no sign of my work life going back to normal - so maybe I need to start accepting that for now at least this is my new normal.
Not a chance, I just need at thinking time so I'm prepared if I need to start a new chapter. Fortunately I love change (though not when it requires cleaning to be done).
