Well it's been a cerebral week for me.
Let's start with home schooling... I've had the fact I'm terrible at maths confirmed more than once this week - although a couple of moments of feeling terribly clever when I did manage to work something out (just a couple).
As it was the last Spanish lesson before half term the lesson was slightly different and we learnt about the Cinco de Mayo celebration in Mexico. It was actually on 5th May so we were a little late.
Homeschooling homework was to create a 'typical' Cinco de Mayo decoration - which turns out to be a rectangle version of a Christmas snowflake. We then needed to put it up and upload a photo for the teacher.
I put my foot down - after being at home for about 7 weeks there is not a square inch of the house I'd want in a photograph. So, we put it up in the garden. It actually looked quite festive - well until today when the wind started blowing. There's just a piece of string with a few torn bits of paper on it now - it feels a little more like the rest of the house!
I've also given my brain a MAJOR workout. Completing an Open University badged course. After so many weeks off work it was a genuine thrill to throw myself into something intellectually challenging.
In fact after my first 5 hour session I was buzzing. My son asked why I was in such a good mood, I explained that I was doing some study. He gave me a sideways look and said 'What, you actually LIKE learning?????'.
Good thing home schooling is just temporary huh!
