Oh my goodness so much has happened

It's been a while since I posted, for good reason. For the first time in ages so much has happened!

Firstly, why the racecourse. Guess what, I've had my jab. I had it on Sunday at the racecourse in Brighton. I was massively impressed with the whole setup. I drove there and on arrival was ushered towards a car park where they checked what time my jab was, gave me directions and then let me park.

There were only 3 other people in the queue when I got there, so we were easily able to distance. Then once you were ushered in somebody asked you questions. One I was asked was whether I'd been abroad in the last fortnight. There's only one answer to that 'I b wish'. He said that everybody said that, but I was the first person to say 'b' - not sure if I should be proud or ashamed of that!

I then went down some steps where I was ushered into an area where there were multiple areas blocked off with partitions. I was ushered into the first one, where there was a person at a desk and a person with a needle. Again I was asked a few questions and then the needle went in.

Literally as soon as it was done I felt a bit 'odd' - so when they gave me the option of waiting in the car or in a waiting room I chose the waiting room. I had to sit there for 15 mins. Chairs were really well spaced so again distancing was easy. As soon as somebody vacated a seat somebody came up and disinfected it.

15 minutes later I was good to go (well actually 25 - I was revelling in being alone and there not being anybody asking me for food) so I did.

Within 4 hours I started to feel terrible, I went to bed and woke at 1.00am shivering as if I was in an ice bath. I literally haven't felt so rough since I actually had COVID last March (literally to the day!). I found that strange as they say the jab doesn't have any COVID in it (unless I'm wrong). Anyway, I felt as if I'd been hit over the head with a saucepan for the whole of Monday and woke feeling a bit better on Tuesday.

My temperature is still up and down even now, this morning I woke up freezing and my temperature had dipped to 35.4!! So I took some paracetamol and hugged a hottie and now I'm back to normalish levels. I feel fine though.

I was so utterly impressed with the setup at Brighton Racecourse. And so grateful for all those volunteers that did everything. I hope Santa gives them something extra special for Christmas. I think I'll send a card up there in the post actually. Just to say how amazing everybody is. I'll do that at lunchtime.

That's not even the only piece of news. Last Wednesday we lost our internet connection. We rang our provider who said that there was no problem, then we rang our phone provider. Who informed us that our telephone number had been cancelled at our request. Now there has been a long saga about this since February - when somebody requested a switch on our number. We informed our provider that it hadn't been us and they told us that they had cancelled the switch.

We then got a letter confirming the switch so we called and cancelled the switch. Then a router turned up for somebody that lived in our house 12 years ago. So we sent it back.

Then they just went ahead and did it. So turns out the switch was identity theft on this person that lived in our house before us (again I mention 12 years ago). Our provider pushed it through despite the fact that their number had been different and the account for this house is held in a different name from the person who requested the switch.

Now they are telling us we can only have our number back if the fraudulent person says we can. I don't need to tell you how shouty I have been about this. I'm so so furious. I may post my letter to them when this is all over, just so you can see how terrible they have been.

So it may be a while until I can post again. I'm doing this tethered to my mobile - but as the juice on my mobile is the only way I can work I need to save it for that.
