I'm definitely falling apart. I've woken up a twisted neck again. I must have a weakness there. I've had to find my trusty neck brace again. Though I forgot to put it in the wash after my last neck crick and it's covered in make-up! Why I bother with the make-up when I've got the neck brace on I have no idea. Essentially the neck brace pushes all my neck fat up and makes all my wrinkles really pronounced and deep - sort of a wrinkly, fatty neck ruff. I know that sounds gross, trust me - it looks as gross as it sounds.
Hopefully this will sort itself out soon. I've a busy week and could well do without it. It also makes sleep impossible.
Yesterday we had eventful BBQ at brother-in-laws house. Rain was promised and we were not let down. About 5 years ago I got one of those Gazebo's that you put up. We took it along for its first outing (we'd never actually got around to using it). Half way through the BBQ the heavens opened and we were all basically in the middle of a monsoon! It was at this point I discovered that the expensive waterproof jacket I bought for son - was not remotely waterproof - neither was mine, as it happens.
After the monsoon it did clear up again, but to say that the event was somewhat dampened is by no means an exaggeration.
One of the family is about to have their first baby - I've had quite a bit of fun buying bits and bobs for it. It's always so much more pleasant when you are aware that the baby at the end of the purchasing isn't going to be your problem!!! Suddenly the clothes seem far more cute. I remember when son was born it was terrifying dressing him for the first few weeks. I was worried I'd just snap his arm. I remember his fingers were no bigger than a matchstick. It was a real relief when he became more robust.
Trying to find something for husband, son and I to do for our wedding anniversary is proving to be a challenge. There are lots of good deals out there, but I'm worried about booking in case we end up cancelling again. I'm also not the sort of person that's comfortable with last minute deals. But I do really want to do something. It's a very significant anniversary.
I have decided that a swimming pool is important to me - not at home, for the anniversary thing. Also, not for husband and I to romp around in you understand. Somewhere for me to go for a nice swim in the morning whilst the rest of the world is asleep. Though I'm not sure if we're able to go into swimming pools at the moment. I think you can, but it turns into a complete booking nightmare.
Busy week ahead of me this week and I've got to start the recruitment process for one of my team again as somebody turned down the role, meaning that I'd already turned down other applicants who have found jobs elsewhere. It's fair to say that I'm p*ss*d off!
Oh and has occurred that the neck brace is the perfect solution to keep Scary potters head on!!!!! Hoorah. I just need to not put my neck out for the period that he's displayed outside our house.
It appears that there's no reasonable close off for today's rather mixed blog. So..... bye.
