Behold the tennis ball destroyer!!!!

We've had some glorious weather over the last week. Yesterday morning I took dog down to seafront and, apart from the fact it was freezing, it could have been summer.

I've also noticed that in the evenings it's now only getting to dusk at 4.30, so signs of the evenings getting lighter already.

I'm looking forward to the evenings being lighter to give me options for walking the dog. As she is so dark she turns into a shadow at night and so I can't risk letting her off the lead. She literally disappears. Once it's lighter at night I'll have the option to take her out after work, rather than cramming a walk into my lunch hour. Means I'll have more options of where to take her, which will be nice.

There are also days when I'm in full flow at work and I really don't need a break - it takes a while to get back into the flow again. That said she knows it's walkies at 12.00 and starts nagging me if I don't get up from my desk.

I've discovered that she can do magic tricks as well, she can make a tennis ball disappear in approximately 30 minutes. First she punctures it - then she scrapes some of the fluffy outside off, then she basically worries it until it splits into 2 - then discards half the ball (I pick it up) and walks proudly home with her dismembered prize in her mouth. That ragged thing in front of her in the picture is a tennis ball - believe it or not!!!!

She's got through 7 tennis balls this week alone!!!! I think I'm going to have to come up with a more sensible solution.

I had a very domestic morning this morning. Actually doing some baking. I've been buying sausage rolls etc. for husband and sons lunch (I hate sausage rolls), the thing is having purchased them on multiple occasions the other day I actually had one. They were absolutely disgusting.

As mentioned I don't actually like sausage rolls, but this was something completely different. The pastry was bland and flavourless and the sausage meat was - well it was nothing. So when I went to the butcher yesterday I purchased some sausage meat and this morning I got domestic. I think I'll do it more often, but I'll definitely be buying the pastry from now on.

By the time I'd finished making the sausage rolls I'd literally covered myself and the kitchen in flour.

Our new bathroom is almost finished. The builders have been in for almost 2 weeks now. The plumber arrives tomorrow and some of the key bits and bobs will be going in. I look forward to not having bits of bathroom in my study. Also just reminded myself that I need to start hunting around the house for all the bits and bobs so they are available for people as they finish up.

Oddly it's the blind I'm looking forward to going up the most. It's going to be the blind that makes the whole bathroom work. It's slightly disappointing that I also know that the blind is going to look a bit naff from the front of the house, roller blinds always do look naff on the reverse side.

However, my house is one of the ugliest houses in the world and so I guess I'll get over it. Lipstick/Pig and all that. It is going to be fabulous getting the house back. Also the cleaner hasn't been in for the last 2 weeks. There's been no point. She's coming in later this week to do a mega blitz. After which life will be back to normalish.

EXCITING!!!!!

Apart from that really not much going on. Friend who normally comes around on Saturdays didn't come around this week as her son got COVID last Saturday (did I mention?). Anyway the fabulous news is that she didn't get it and he's actually been fine with it. So that's one worry off the list.

Next weekend son is having a sleepover with some of his classmates. Or rather they are having one with son. We're going to have 4 teenage boys in the house. I'm dreading it, but I know son will have the time of his life and that's what it's all about at the end of the day.

I'll be sure to let you know how it goes.

Seriously that's all this week - it seems it's been as dull as it was during lockdown. However, I guess you can't have new exciting experiences every week - certainly not at the moment.
