On a Cold and Frosty Morning

The weather has turned and winter has come in. I'm not complaining I love winter. I'm much more of a winter person than summer. I spend the whole of the summer trying to find something to wear - whereas I love a wooly pulley (comfortable jumper).

Turns out that last week I was coming down with a nasty bug - another one caught from son - though I may have passed this one to him as he seemed to be a day behind. There's so much going around his school at the moment including Scarlet Fever - which I didn't think people got any more.

I took Thursday and Friday off work sick - something I never do, which gives you an idea of just how rubbish I felt.

Also - as I've been ill essentially since we got back from Italy I've been to the doctor. They've taken blood tests to see if something is wrong. On Tuesday I have an appointment set with the doctor when they're going to go through the results. I'm absolutely terrified. Normally they don't set a meeting, which means they think that there may be something.

I'm trying to keep my mind on other things, but it's very difficult.

Just before COVID one of my friends dropped dead at her desk. One minute feeling a bit ropey - the next minute the lights were switched off. There's a lot to be said for going that way - though not so great for the people around you admittedly. Also as I work from home I could be there fore a while before I was found (though Husband also works from home so eventually he'd smell something).

On a brighter note today is another pre-Christmas 'thing'. As we spend Christmas Day with my parents every year before Christmas I do a big family get together for husbands family. His family are huge.

So later on this morning 11 of them are joining us (14 in total) and I'm doing the full Christmas lunch. Prepping it has done a good job off keeping my mind of other things.

Apologies the blog is a bit grim at the moment, but life is not always unicorns and butterfly's - well actually - life IS always unicorns and butterflies for me - but sometimes they are a little frayed around the edges.

Anyway - keep your fingers crossed for me this week - if it's bad news this blog will be taking a slightly different turn m'thinks!

Today's photo by the way is one I took this morning. I took the dog out early as her worst enemy is coming over later (a doggy cousin) so her nose will be out of joint and when her nose is out of joint she poo's and wee's in the house to let us know!!!!!!!

It's not snow - but a really hard frost. One of the things I love about winter. A lovely walk when it's frosty and your breath is steaming, early enough that the moon still shows in the sky.

Perfect.
