It is my brothers birthday in a few weeks. He is impossible to buy for. He doesn't have any useful hobbies like gardening or golf. He is not interested in sport. It's a real challenge.
To make it tougher He is loaded. So if I gave him a voucher or cash it would be meaningless.
I have run out if creative ideas. He is an environmentalist. I have bought him bits of rainforest, had acres of plastic removed from oceans, I have even bought him a bug hotel.
I had a day off on Friday (exciting, my second day off this year). I spent it creating a decoupage book for him. I am thrilled with it. Though its a snug fit with the paper and varnish and once shut there is a threat it will never open again.
The front is better than the inside, but it has his name on it. For the sake of anonymity I shall keep it hidden.
I was doing Washing at same time, so please admire my new blue shirt in the background of the picture. Although rats have gone I am still queezy about hanging clothes outside.
Anyway, that is brother sorted. I don't think he will appreciate the gift or the 14 hours it took to make
My nephew, his son, is 21 in July also. I know whatever I give will not be the amount expected. Though brother has only remembered about 4 of my sons birthdays so maybe I shouldn't get too stressed.
Yet another batch of magazines arrived for son to deliver. As ever I delivered half of them myself. Fortunately I finished this on Saturday. Fortunate because on Saturday evening I stupidly picked up a metal pan with a bare hand partially searing it. Agony. I spent the evening with my hand in a bowl of water. I either did the trick or have killed the nerves in my hand.
My animal shriek as I did it simply got a 'are you ok' call. Lucky I hadn't cut my arm off!
