I woke up this morning with a 'if I don't do it nobody will' head on. I ended up bizarrely spring cleaning. If I didn't know better I'd think I was pregnant (I'm DEFINITELY not!).
It left me wondering if it was transference from dog (girl power) because she is currently on heat. When she's on heat it's a bit of a challenge because she is the biggest floozy on earth. Flirting with all the boys (even the ones that don't want her) and presenting herself like a Christmas Present.
So I've been walking her differently over the last week (just 2 more weeks to go!). I've been getting up and ready for work really early so we can be at the local recreation ground just as dawn breaks. The first morning this worked really well, no other dogs around. The second morning a couple of boy dogs arrived and we had to leave. This morning we threw the ball a bit and then she willfully headed off into the distance - I assume to go and find some nooky.
Fortunately she didn't head off at speed so I was able to catch her reasonably quickly and get her on the lead.
I wonder if I was like that as a teenager - it was so long ago I literally can't remember. I think probably not as I'd probably have got far more action than I actually did (or didn't in reality).
Son is showing signs of growing up. From this term he's doing his own packed lunches, this morning as he got ready he asked me what he needed for sport. I replied 'no idea, it's your timetable'. He took himself off and checked and pulled together what he needed without grumble or requests for help. It feels great he's got his independence now, but doubtless in about 5 months I'll be whinging about being unwanted.
As well as that he's in his first year of GCSE's (gulp) he's already being responsible with homework as it is part of his coursework. How on earth did we get from dressing up as pirates to this point! I'm not saying that it went in a flash of an eye - It's more that each stage passes quickly. As an adult you're used to people around you being the same'ish from one year to the next. The kids are only 2 for a year etc.
So just a quick update of little things that wouldn't make my weekly blog.
