Boo

After last weekend I was somewhat exhausted. I had booked the Monday off. I had wanted the Tuesday too but had a meeting.

Monday was frantic with lots to fit in. In the morning I took dog for early walk and then son and I went to pick pumpkins in Sompting.

Things have changed. When we first went son was tiny. I pushed him in a wheelbarrow. We got a small pumpkin. I took a photo of the pumpkin house and then went for a hot chocolate before heading home. Once home I would gut pumpkin because son didn't like sliminess.

This year son pushed wheelbarrow (without me in it sadly), was on a mission to find the biggest pumpkin and he took the photo with the post because I forgot my phone. No hot chocolate was wanted either.

Whilst he hunted for his big pumpkin I looked foe smaller squash type things to make into soup. I also squealed with joy when I found a nobbled pumpkin that looked like a penis.

Now this isn't the cheapest way to do pumpkins. In fact my haul cost £30! However it's part of what we do together and son was great company. AND the penis pumpkin is priceless obvs.

Once we got home we carved out pumpkins and then I made pumpkin soup.

In the afternoon we headed out again for son to go to dentist.

On Tuesday I was back at work only for the meeting to be cancelled. Grrrr.

Still shattered I booked the Thursday and Friday off. On the Thursday son and I went to garden centre to try to find lights for the pumpkins and had a coffee. Then headed deeper into town on our light hunt. For the second time son saw some clothes he wanted. So rare. I was excited to say yes. He is growing up!

Then in the evening it was Halloween. I enjoyed the little one's but as it got later I left the sweets outside for the surly teenagers to help themselves.

On Friday husband also took day off and as a family we wandered down to seafront with dog and had lunch together. Lovely to do something as a group. Also as it was a lovely sunny day I put up the Christmas lights. Not as mad as it sounds. Much better to do on a warm October day then December.

Weekend was same old on Saturday. Cooked for 6.

And here I am on Sunday in a cafe waiting for a friend for a natter.

Back to work tomorrow. Still shattered!!!!!!
