Frowsy Start to the day!

You know you see those Gifs where there are cats that have just been woken up with their fur all over the place and a confused look on their face. Well I'm channelling that look this morning.

I went for a wee at about 01:00, I didn't shut the bedroom door properly. At about 01:45 the dog worked out she could get into the room if she was persistent enough with her nose. She jumped on the bed. At 02:00 she was circling the bed to find a spot, as husband and I were taking up too much space she started to shove us out of the way. I woke, but not fully, at least not enough to chuck her out.

Dog then proceeded to spend the entire night shifting positions, until she found a comfortable spot on husbands feet (he's not happy), then at 04:30 she decided it was time I woke up. Walked up the full length of my body, stood her pin legs on my chest and huffed in my face until I gave up my fight to sleep and got up.

Having fed her, I got myself some coffee and tried to stay awake. Oddly my brain was fizzing with activity so that was impossible. I spent the time doing some research into cool virtual things to do with my friends. I was so engrossed I forgot to wake up son, fortunately he'd set an emergency alarm for 10 mins after I normally wake him.

About 30 minutes later I was overwhelmed with tiredness and shut my eyes. I was woken up by the dog going absolutely mental and the sound of the front door opening and shutting. I was completely confused and went to see who was trying to get into the front door. Not looking my best with my hair awry, an ugly purple patterned fleece on (that I decided I loved when it was in the shop) and my red tartan PJ bottoms I opened the door. There loud and proud outside the house was my son's school bus. It had been him leaving for school.

I'm hoping that none of the kids saw me, but I rather fear I'm in for a disgruntled son when he gets home tonight. It probably would have been preferable if I'd run out of the house naked and done the cancan (well probably not to be honest). Things you will never unsee and all that!!!

We continue to make the most of our free Saturday evenings. During the week in the local paper I saw a report about a 'Curry House' that had received an award. It was on the outskirts of town. So I thought, why not! So we booked a table and drove there.

Parking in the area was an absolute nightmare. I forgot how tough it was to park as you got closer to town - it's one of the reasons we moved to the outskirts. We did find a spot though. Eventually.

The restaurant 'Chowringhee' didn't look much from the outside and to be honest it didn't look much from the inside either, but it was absolutely packed - which is a good sign. We had to wait a while for the order to be taken, but it wasn't boring it was actually amazing watching them turn the tables. Somebody would finish eating and leave and within 3 minutes the table was redressed and ready for the next customers.

Once the food turned up the wait was worth it - it was absolutely amazing. Probably one of the best curry's I'd ever had. There was a mix of British Curry and traditional curry. I'm not going to bang on about what we ordered, I'm not a food blogger. I had something I'd normally have, as did son, husband had something new. Both son and I agreed it was the best version of what we had ordered we'd ever had.

What really impressed me about the restaurant was that they appeared really laid back and at no point did they rush you, in fact sometimes you were waiting longer than you'd want to. And yet at the same time I could see existing customers leave, new customers come in and the rotation was rapid and endless. My goodness the people in their work hard, yet look so relaxed.

We will go back, I just need to plan parking a bit better next time.

Apart from that last week was reasonably quiet and on Sunday I struggled to motivate myself to do much at all. February is always a difficult month for me my S.A.D. hits hardest. It's a lot better this year with the Sun Lamp I have on my desk, but it's still leaving me feeling sleepy and lethargic. Still when I was walking at the weekend I could see primroses coming out and the snowdrops were already looking fully formed.

Spring is on it's way and I'm ready to welcome it with open arms. My favourite time of year.
