In last week's post I was full of doubt. I was wrong.
Son met with friends with no issues. They navigated Clapham and got on Axminster train and arrived at destination.
In fact the only hitch was a request for money, which feels normal. He had a great time and turned up 4 days later happy and tanned. So first lads holiday crossed off the list. Doubtless to be remembered forever.
Every woman I spoke to asked if I was worried whilst he was away. I can honestly say that once they were on the train to Axminster I was calm. After all he is 16 and that means he's old enough to go to war (horrifically). Also he and his friends are a sensible crew and I was confident they would look after each other.
I did have a moment of panic when they went for a cliff walk, but had to push that down. What will be will be! As it happens all was fine.
So another mum landmark crossed off the list. They are coming thick and fast. Before I know it he will have left home. Scary stuff.
