What are the chances

I've done little this week. The lurgy has wiped me out. But much the same as babies and toddlers are unrelenting when you are sick, the dog still needs a walk.

Yesterday I took the dog to the beach and wincing in the sunlight took her to our favourite part of the beach where she paddles.

On route as normal she found the manky remnants of a ball left by another dog and when we got to the spot (a 20 min walk) I crumpled to the pebbles and threw the ball for her til she tired herself out.

On the way back home my arm felt light. My favourite chunky bracelet - silver with garnets had gone. HORROR.

It's probably worth about £300 so not the most expensive loss, but not cheap either. But the value is sentimental. I just didn't have the strength to go back and look.

Returning home I told husband what had happened. He gave up his lunch hour to retrace my steps and pop into all the beach cafes and shops in case it was handed in. MY HERO.

He came home empty handed but increased my love for him even more.

Today at low tide I took dog out again. Retraced my steps scouring the beach. I had bought some water shoes and I spent an hour ankle deep in water scouring the seabed.

I was just about to give up when there it was, wrapped around the underside of a stone which had stopped the tide taking it.

The photo shows the area I found it. The gods were helping me I think!
