Whoops nearly 2 weeks!

This was last week's I forgot to post it!!!!

Really not much to add following last week's excitement, though if there isn't a photo there yet, my intention is to add one.

Really the only update is that I was true to my word and actually went to a jewellers on Saturday to get a catch fitted on my bracelet. I'm not going to lie, the price of the catch was eye watering, but at least the bracelet is safe. They tried to get me to put 2 catches on there. I managed to resist the upsell, let's hope they were not talking sense.

And that's it. Nothing more to report!

This is this week's. Still nothing majorly exciting.

I came to the conclusion that there is no way I'd have found my bracelet without some sort of help. So I sent thanks to god and then on Saturday I made a bouquet of lavendar, lemon thyme and rosemary to take down to the rockpool where I found my bracelet. Who knows, maybe there's some sort of sea fairie that was smiling at me that day.

On the way to the rockpool I looked down and there was some sea glass. Now I know in some areas sea glass is something found all the time. A colleague lives near Hartlepool and they have loads, but where I live sea glass is really rare. It was green and really beautiful. So I went to the rockpool and left the bouquet of 'in land' herbs and also the sea glass to say thank you.

Doubtless somebody found it within an hour and picked it up and took it away, but at least the effort was there.

There must have been some sort of moon event, I'd never seen the tide so low. The entire reef was exposed, It was a lot bigger than I thought it was. On the far side of the reef there was a row of fisherman, all standing in the sea and it was still only knee high on them. It was a strange sight just because it was like nothing I'd seen around here before.

On Saturday we had a video call with my friends who have moved to Ireland. It all felt very COVID, my family all in different rooms and them sharing a phone at there end. Remember that. I still remember COVID with fondness. Largely because we didn't lose anybody, but they were simple times with a lot less life pressure. Though COVID itself brought it's own particular stresses. It's really odd now to think about it and those 2 years are kind of lost. I still struggle with timings of things.

In fact earlier today I saw a sign in my local post office, still up. It said 'due to COVID only 3 people are allowed in the Post Office at one time'. It all seems a bit crazy now doesn't it.

Son's driving is going really well. We are just about ready to go out onto the main road together. Though it's a real shame that winter is setting in because those daylight hours will be limited. On the subject of winter, the leaves are all falling from the trees, I'm having to sweep the patio daily. Photo taken was from this morning, painful experience tells me there's no point trying to sweep up leaves when they are wet because all you do is flatten them onto the paving slabs.

Next spring I've some work to do on the patio as well. You can see some of the black filler between them is starting to wear. Fortunately I've got a bag of that filler in the garage and it's not an arduous task. Just a messy one.

Oh back to the driving. I have a mini and I really enjoy it when it's going around corners because you feel like you are in a rally. So I make dramatic noises of cars screeching around corners and everybody thinks I'm bonkers, but it just feels right. Now son is driving in my car and all of a sudden he's started to do the same thing. He looked at me and laughed and said 'now I understand why you do it'.

Final thing today is also about son. His school is all sorted and he's now doing the subjects that he wanted to move to so A levels are now computing, history and biology. I'm sure he'll do really well in them. It's been a long journey of acceptance though.

He had an opportunity with school to go to an AI immersive experience of the last day's of Pompeii. Sounds awesome doesn't it. He said that he doesn't want to go because..... 'it's not going to be about looking at artefacts'. Each to their own, but to me the AI experience sounds really exciting. So whilst some things about us are similar - some still remain very different.
