Managed to get it all done in 2.5 days. If I hadn't blocked myself out I think it might have ended up taking weeks.
I got the car back from the garage on Wednesday - another £250. I haven't taken it for a long drive yet, so I assume it's better, but without going for a long run I'll not really know.
On Saturday I was supposed to be going for a girls weekend, the hotels were booked and I'd chosen an outfit. Though I wasn't sure when my car would be back which did put a bit of a query on whether I could get there. Then the friend I was supposed to be going out with got sick. So in the end the whole thing was cancelled.
Unfortunately when booking the hotel I'd gone for the cheapest option, which was pay now and don't you dare cancel. So my hotel room remained unused on Saturday. Still what will be will be.
My weekends are all booked up now until Christmas and it was looking like I'd need to take a day's holiday to get the decorations up. So even though it was ridiculously early I decided to be kind to myself and use the free time I now had so that I could put up the decorations at a reasonable pace.
So here we are in Mid-November and my Christmas trees are up. I don't need to tell you what the look on husband's face was. Though he tends to be resigned at these moments and just pretends they are not happening.
It's been really really mild recently even though it's November. I've been changing outfits 2 times a day because I dress for cold weather and then by 11.00 I'm boiling hot. I've even still had the window open in my study - and last week a wasp came in because I'd taken my wasp curtain down.
Then, as if triggered by the Christmas decorations, suddenly it's turned really cold. I'm not going to say freezing, because it isn't freezing. However, the temperature has dropped from about 14 degrees, down to about 4 and so it feels freezing.
This morning dog was struggling a bit. You'll remember I took her to the froo froo parlour a few week's ago because her winter coat had come in and she was leaving fur balls all over the house. She's been fine up until now, but suddenly there she was with a short coat in cold weather. She took herself back to her bed, which isn't like her - so I went to see the problem and she was shivering. I took her down to the sofa and wrapped her in a blanket, something she'd normally hate. She sighed and then just curled up in a little cocoon. I'm going to have to keep an eye on that until her coat starts to grow back again.
And that's it really. Even nicer at the weekend were some really simple cooks. I'd anticipated being away so we had a takeaway on Friday, on Saturday fish and chips and on Sunday sausages and mash. Perhaps not the poshest meals, but as I say - I'd anticipated the boys prepping food for themselves.
I really hope that next week's post is even more boring than this one, I could really do with some boring times for a little bit.
