Well I've had a week! Let me start a little tale about my week. Monday drove to to a work location on Lee-on-the-Solent, at Arundel (half way) my car started pulling back, then got ok again. I carried on, by the time I hit the road to Portsmouth my car was really struggling and I could only keep it going in 3rd gear. By the time I was half a mile from the hotel it had totally given up. I was in first gear and it was leaping forward 3 feet at a time. I got to hotel.... just. I was so stressed by this that my clutch leg was bouncing up and down so hard it was hitting the steering wheel and my hands were visibly shaking. I got into the hotel, only to discover that I didn't have a booking. I made a decision that if I couldn't get a room there I'd just get a relay home. Fortunately I was able to get a room so I went to get some supper and then literally fell asleep. On Tuesday at 04:45 my alarm went off so I could be ready for the annual joy of booking my supermarket Chris...

UFO Sighting

Nope that's not a photo - it's AI generated. Took dog to park this morning, it was almost first light and it was really misty. There was no way I was going deep into the park because you couldn't see clearly for more than about 30 metres. It's not my fault I don't like taking the dog out in the dark - it's societies. I'm not afraid of monsters, I'm afraid of dangerous men! Although saying that suddenly in the far distance I saw a very bright hazy light, then it disappeared, then appeared, then disappeared, then remained steady, moved at a steady pace to the right and then turned and headed straight towards me. I'm not going to lie I was more than a little freaked out. I pointed out to myself that I was near the car park and if it wasn't something dubious it may be human. I stood there bravely and stood my ground. Then once the light got about 30m away I realised it was another dog walker who was wearing a head light. Drama over!

Oh Please don't be one of THOSE years!

As the week went on the weather got worse, but we still didn't get snow. News reports were disasterising (a new word I've made up) the weather. Saying that we were going to get swept by 100mph winds and blattering (another word I made up) rain. Son's school even opened an hour late on one day to allow for the weather. No matter how often I looked at the local weather forecast I couldn't align it to the news that was being broadcast. True enough, whilst some parts of the country did get hammered by wind, where I live the worst that happened was that some bins and benches got blown over and there was some shingle on the beach. Basically a very normal event with sea winds. On Saturday the sky was clear and it appeared a lot warmer so I took dog down to the sea nice and early before other humans decided to do the same. Even walking down to the beach I realised it was a mistake, the winds were strong and completely arctic. Needless to say dog and I didn't spend much time...
